He studied BSc Agriculture in Pietermaritzburg and after a couple years in aromatic plant research enrolled at Onderstepoort for the veterinary degree.

Immediately after graduation Cedric studied further in cattle medicine and then spent 7 years in the UK during which time he concentrated on animal dentistry.

Since December 2003 Cedric has been providing a veterinary dentistry and oro-facial surgery referral service (Cape Animal Dentistry Service) in Cape Town where he concentrates mainly on dogs, cats and small herbivores but also treats horses that have dental imbalances.
