Sweating is the body's natural way of cooling you down. But if you're sweating like a horse, and your sweating is a constant embarrassment to you, take solace in the fact that there's a lot you can do.

The first step is to lose weight if you're overweight – follow a balanced eating plan and exercise 3-4 times per week; go to your doctor and find out if you have hyperthyroidism or may be suffering from hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) – either way, your doctor will be able to suggest treatment; if there's no underlying cause, try using an aluminium chloride-containing anti-perspirant; if you think you may be suffering from nervous perspiration, a few sessions at a psychologist could be a great help.
