Types of hypertension
Types of hypertension.

White coat hypertension
White coat hypertension = anxiety-induced hypertension.

Isolated Systolic Hypertension
When the top number is consistently above 160, it should not be discarded as mere age-related.

Malignant Hypertension
There are two major types of hypertension and four more not so common types, including Malignant Hypertension and Isolated Systolic Hypertension.

High blood pressure
Blood pressure is the force of blood pushing against the walls of arteries (blood vessels). Each time the heart beats, it pumps blood through blood vessels, supplying the body's muscles, organs and tissues with the oxygen and nutrients that they need to function. Over the course of a day, an individual's blood pressure rises and falls transiently many times in response to various stimuli. Elevated blood pressure over a sustained period of time is a condition referred to as hypertension (HTN).

Primary hypertension
Primary hypertension is the same as essential hypertension - the most common type of hypertension.

Secondary hypertension
In most cases Secondary Hypertension can, depending on the cause, be cured or at least greatly improved.

Resistant Hypertension
If, despite triple-drug therapy, hypertension cannot be reduced to below 140/90 mm Hg, the it may be Resistant Hypertension.

Hypertension in the lungs
Pulmonary hypertension is a rare condition in which blood pressure in the arteries of the lungs (the pulmonary arteries) is abnormally high.
