Primary Hypertension
Primary hypertension is the same as essential hypertension - the most common type of hypertension. |

Secondary Hypertension

Malignant Hypertension
There are two major types of hypertension and four more
not so common types, including Malignant Hypertension and Isolated Systolic Hypertension. |

Isolated Systolic Hypertension
When the top number is consistently above 160, it should not be discarded as mere age-related. |

White coat hypertension
White coat hypertension = anxiety-induced hypertension. |

Resistant Hypertension
If, despite triple-drug therapy, hypertension cannot be reduced to below 140/90 mm Hg, the it may be Resistant Hypertension. |
