Myeloproliferative disorders
Myeloproliferative disorders are a group of rare illnesses that cause blood cells in the bone marrow, including red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets, to grow and develop abnormally. Bone marrow is the soft, spongy tissue found inside bones.
Liver cancer - from Natural Standard
Liver cancer is a cancer affecting the liver characterized by abnormal tumors or growths. Primary liver cancer or hepatoma forms in the tissues of the liver. Secondary liver cancer arises when cancer in other parts of the body spreads to the liver; the most common types of cancer that spread to the liver start in the bowel, breast, pancreas, stomach, lung, ovary, or skin (melanoma).
Gynecological cancers
Gynecologic cancer is cancer originating in the female reproductive organs. Gynecological cancers include cancer of the cervix, fallopian tubes, ovaries, uterus, vagina, and vulva.
Pancreatic cancer - from Natural Standard
Pancreatic cancer is cancer found in the tissues of the pancreas, an organ located behind the lower part of the stomach. The pancreas extends horizontally across the abdomen, with the head of the pancreas located on the right side of the abdomen, behind the place where the stomach meets the duodenum (the first part of the small intestine).
Cancer - from Natural Standard
Cancer, also called malignancy or neoplasm, develops when cells in a specific part of the body begin to grow out of control. Unlike normal cells, cancer cells do not stop reproducing after they have doubled 50-60 times.
Bone cancer
Bone cancer occurs when bone cells grow uncontrollably. Unlike normal cells, cancer cells do not stop reproducing after they have doubled 50-60 times. These abnormal cells form clumps of tissue, called tumors, inside bones. The first symptom of bone cancer is typically pain in the affected bone(s). Sometimes, a bump either on the bone or in the tissues surrounding the bone may be felt.
Lung cancer - from Natural Standard
Lung cancer is a disease in which the cells of lung tissues grow uncontrollably and form tumors. A tumor is a mass or lump of tissue made of abnormal cells.
Leukemia
Leukemia is cancer of the bone marrow and blood. The bone marrow is the soft, inner part of the bones that makes red and white blood cells. Leukemia is characterized by the uncontrolled accumulation of white blood cells (leucocytes).
Skin cancer - from Natural Standard
Skin cancer is the abnormal growth of skin cells. It most often develops on skin exposed to the sun, but can also occur on areas that are not ordinarily exposed to sunlight. Skin cancer is generally divided into two stages, local (where the cancer affects only the skin) and metastatic (where cancer has spread beyond the skin).
Ovarian cancer - from Natural Standard
A women's reproductive system has two ovaries, one on either side of the uterus. The ovaries, each about the size of an almond, produce eggs (ova) as well as the female sex hormones estrogen and progesterone. Eggs are fertilized by sperm from the male to produce offspring (children).
Brain cancer
Brain cancer is abnormal growths of cells in the brain. Brain cancer and brain tumor are terms commonly used interchangeably. However, not all brain tumors are cancerous, and cancer is a term reserved for malignant tumors.
Bladder cancer - from Natural Standard
Bladder cancer is the uncontrolled growth of cells, usually originating in the bladder lining. The bladder is an organ located in the pelvic cavity that stores and discharges urine. Urine is produced by the kidneys, carried to the bladder by hollow tubes called ureters, and discharged from the bladder through a tube called the urethra.
