Lobular carcinoma in situ
The medical term “in situ” means “ in place”. Lobular carcinoma in situ (LCIS) means that abnormal cancer cells are present, but they have not spread outside the tissues where they originally developed.
Ductal carcinoma in situ
DCIS are cancer cells which are confined to the milk ducts of the breast that have not spread to the fatty tissue of the breast or to any other part of the body.
