How do we decide whether or not a lump is cancerous?
An accurate diagnosis is based on the "triple test". This means the lump should be examined by a doctor, imaged by a radiologist (ultrasound or mammogram) and some cells should be taken from the lump with a fine needle and examined.

If this cannot be done then a biopsy of the lump should be performed.
