Nowadays most schools are used to handling children with asthma.
Be sure to schedule a meeting with the teacher to explain that your child has asthma and what treatments he’s using. If your child needs to use an inhaler during the day, he must be allowed to do so. Be sure to leave a spare bronchodilator with the teacher. If your child runs out of medication, help will be at hand. If your child is a severe asthmatic, be sure to provide the teacher and principal with the necessary emergency numbers and plan of action.

With the correct medication, asthmatic children can be as active as their non-asthmatic counterparts. In fact, a number of asthmatics have gone on to become great sportsmen and women. If your child starts wheezing during exercise, then she should use an inhaler just before exercising as this can prevent symptoms from starting.
