Impairment of perceptual abilities is called agnosia. The brain develops an inability to process information obtained through the senses. Higher order interpretation of vision, hearing, touch, taste, and smell is affected.

The person will have difficulty recognising familiar faces, will struggle to identify objects, and will be unable to find his way in unfamiliar or even familiar surroundings.
