Fingers or toes should always be exposed in order to check on the circulation beyond a bandage. When applying a bandage, and also ten minutes thereafter, check for the following signs that could indicate that the bandage might be too tight:
you feel a tingling feeling or numbness in your toes or fingers, or you can’t move them
the tips of the toes or fingernail are cold, or appear blue or pale
an injured arm has no pulse, or a weaker pulse compared to the other one.

Removing an adhesive bandage painlessly
Soak the area in a mixture of warm water and salt – a ¼ teaspoon of salt to 1 litres of water, or use a cotton bud saturated in baby oil to moisten the adhesive fully.
