Don't choose shoes that have plastic, synthetic or cardboard linings; stick the narrow nozzle of a vacuum cleaner into your shoes every few weeks – this will draw off any moisture; buy a few pairs of inner soles for your shoes and alternate them; get rid of any nylon or synthetic socks and replace them with socks that are a mixture of wool and cotton; get rid of hard, dry skin on your feet that could harbour bacteria – use a pumice stone and foot cream; buy some tea tree oil – put a few drops into a basin of warm water and bathe your feet in it for about 20 minutes at the end of each day.
