Yes, quite a few other conditions have osteoporosis as a common feature. These include regular use of corticosteroids, Cushing's disease, deficiency of female or male sex hormone, overactive thyroid, calcium deficiency, scurvy, malabsorption of food from the gut, immobilisation, chronic heparin use, rheumatoid arthritis, alcoholism, epilepsy, type 2 diabetes, emphysema and malnutrition.
