Tesla may be the most recognised EV car company, but it's not the largest. That would be BYD, the Chinese EV giant.

Although BYD isn't one of the significant local Chinese brands yet, the first of its compact EVs have arrived in-country. With advanced battery technology, bold designs and innovative packaging, BYD's EVs are impressive - and very originally named.

The BYD marketing approach has been to give its EVs marine animal names. Dolphin. Seagull. And now: Shark.
