| What happens at my gynae check-ups?
During each visit the following will be
checked: - Urine
- Growth of the baby
- Foetal heart rate
- Maternal
weight gain
- Maternal
and foetal wellbeing
- Possible
anaemia
A routine gynaecological
schedule consists of the following:

Confirm diagnosis of pregnancy.
Do
“booking bloods”: blood group, tests for syphilis, immunity to
rubella, Hepatitis B, HIV, haemoglobin, protein in the urine

| Week 11-13 |
NT
(neucal fold thickness) scan and blood test to detect Down syndrome and
early abnormality. |
| Week 22 |
Foetal anomaly scan. |
| Week 26 |
Check
general wellbeing of the foetus (foetus becomes viable). |
| Week 27-35 |
Check-ups
could be fortnightly or monthly depending on complications or risk. |
| Week 36-birth |
Weekly
check-ups. |
