Approximately half of pregnant women complain of back pain during pregnancy. In many cases, pain continues for a few months after birth. How can you relieve back pain?

  • Wear sensible, low heeled shoes

  • Avoid standing for long periods of time
  • Spend more time in the bath or pool. Your muscles relax in water
  • Sleep on a firm mattress
  • Do exercises to strengthen the back. Aqua-aerobics is an excellent, safe choice
  • Ask your doctor whether it is safe for you to use heat pads
