Place the baby on top of the new diaper, or slide a new diaper underneath the baby’s bottom.

Make sure the diaper is the right way around, and that the tabs are facing in the right direction. Most modern disposables will be colour-coded to help you with this.

Apply relevant creams and ointments to your baby after you have placed it on the new nappy. This will prevent spillage of these products on to your changing surface.
