What Olympic event causes the greatest physical strain? Arguably, it's dingy racing. Even though the race may seem dull, the sailors get a real workout.

According to the Journal of Sports Medicine and Physical Fitness, the job of adjusting the sails while standing upright may be the hardest job in the Olympics.
When the department of management systems of Massey University, in New Zealand, measured the time dinghy racers spent on the various tasks involved in a race, it found that most sailors couldn't do sail adjustments while standing for very long before they had to change to a different position to ease the strain on their legs.
In fact, the average length of time even the best sailors could manage was only 20 seconds.
Dinghy racers have to repeat their most strenuous activity 24 times in every race.
