| UPPER LEG |
| The majority of soccer injuries (77%) occur in the leg, affecting the muscles and ligaments. The most common types of leg injuries are contusions, sprains, and strains.
And, according to research, a considerable amount of strains occur in the hamstrings (42%) and quadriceps (5%).
Hamstring injuries almost always occur at the proximal myotendinous junction. Injury usually does not occur within the tendon itself.
An acute injury may occur from a direct blow, a fall, or from twisting, jerking, jamming, or bending a limb abnormally. Pain may be sudden and severe, and bruising and swelling may develop soon after the injury.
Games are particularly risky from an injury point of view.
