SHOULDER
Shoulder injuries are common in rugby: up to 15-20% of all rugby injuries involve this part of the body.

The most common shoulder injury, apart from sprains and strains, is anterior dislocation of the shoulder.

However, Stormer player Jean De Villiers - with his torn rotator cuff injury - is proof that shoulder injuries in rugby are not just limited to dislocations.

Other injuries include posterior dislocation of the shoulder, impingement syndrome, chronic instability of the shoulder following dislocation, shoulder bursitis and a few other minor problems.
