Now in his early thirties and nearing the end of his long career, Os du Randt is still rated as one of the top loosehead props in world rugby. In 1999 he was named the second-best loosehead prop of all time in a survey by Rugby World magazine. In addition to his strong performances for the Boks, he has been a key figure for the Cheetahs in the 2004 Absa Currie Cup. His debut a decade ago represented a new breed of prop, who, despite his bulk, was also athletic and mobile around the field.
