Some folk are daunted by the idea of being shouted at by a physically perfect human being, while trying to trigger a heart attack. Others develop withdrawal symptoms if they don't have at least three sessions of sweaty, convulsions in lycra a week.
That's because - like any exercise done regularly and done well - aerobics can trigger the so-called runner's high, where ''feel-good'' endorphins go zipping around in your bloodstream.
And if you want to lose weight, get over your dominatrix aversion and try a beginner's aerobics class. Even the most seasoned gym rats started that way, even if they now do the Step, Tone and High Impact classes in one go.
Handy tip number one: in the beginning, stand at the back. When the sweat starts flying and your head starts spinning, you may have difficulty following all the moves.
Tip number two: if you ogle the lithe neon shapes around you, do so very discreetly.
