Cardiovascular exercise is one of the four basic components of a balanced exercise programme. Running, brisk walking, cycling, swimming and rowing are examples of good cardiovascular exercises. Any exercise which is done at an intensity that increases your heart rate to a level well above 100 beats per minute will fit into this category.
