TWK Investments says its timber business is back on track and gearing up for a bumper six months, having regained overseas clients it lost temporarily when a devastating fire at a neighbouring group's woodchip plant shut down its own operations in Richards Bay.
Chief financial officer Eddie Fivaz said on Tuesday that the diversified agricultural and forestry group’s timber division, which had been unable to export woodchip to the Japanese market for five months, now had a full pipeline of orders, with business largely back to normal.
Woodchip is used in various products globally, including packaging, paper and even some clothing.
