International Headache Society (IHS) – Founder and Chairman (2003-2005) of the South African branch (The South African Headache Society) of the IHS.
Founder and Medical Director - The Headache Clinic, (Johannesburg, Durban, Cape Town) South Africa. The Headache Clinic is a multidisciplinary practice dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of Primary Headaches and Migraines. As Medical Director, Dr Shevel co-ordinates information with his team of specialists that includes a Neurologist, Physiotherapist, Psychologist, Dentist, and Radiologist. Dr Shevel is also the main author of all scientific publications generated by his team.
Tertiary Education - Dr Shevel holds both Dental and Medical degrees, and practises as a specialist Maxillo-facial and Oral Surgeon.

Honorary Fellowship - International College of Craniomandibular Orthopaedics
As a result of his scientific work in headaches and migraines in the area of craniomandibular orthopaedics, Dr Shevel was awarded an Honorary Fellowship in 1999.
