The term "vegetarian" refers to diets that differ based on the types and amounts – if any – of animal-based foods that a person eats.
There are no animal products included in the vegan diet, while the pollo-vegetarian includes chicken, and the semi-vegetarian includes occasional servings of meat. Lacto-vegetarians include dairy, ovo-vegetarians include eggs and lacto-ovo vegetarians eat both dairy and eggs.
People choose to go the vegetarian route for a variety of reasons, e.g. health, environmental, moral, ethical or religious reasons.
Whether you're a newbie, just curious about the science of vegetarianism or a veteran veggie, you'll find something here.
