Take action: Vegetables, salads, fruit and fresh herbs should be stored at the bottom and covered to prevent wilting; fruit juices, wine, milk and soft drinks should be stored in the door to prevent breakages; cheese, cream, butter, margarine, salad dressings, preserves, spreads, eggs and jam on the top or centre shelves; convenience foods, cooked items top and centre shelves; fresh and cooked meat, poultry and fish above the salad drawer, with raw meats below cooked meats.
