Take action:
Go for a bone-density screening test if: you are older than 55 and have lost 5 cm of height; have had a bone fracture that wasn't caused by a major trauma (such as a car crash), but by a simple fall; you have a family history of the disease; you have had kidney stones; you are an alcoholic or a regular smoker; you are taking steroid medications; you have problems with male hormone production; you take medication for prostate cancer that suppresses hormone production.
