Plane trees

Plane trees are found in most urban areas. It is a deciduous tree and is very tolerant of pollution.

It has lobed, large prickly fruit and its flowers on catkins are inconspicuous. Plane trees produce large amounts of buoyant pollen and are problematic to allergy sufferers.

The flowering season of most plane trees is on October and November, when pollen can often be seen blowing around in clumps in the vicinity of the trees.
