Rooigras (Red grass)

This type of grass grows in all areas of South Africa, except in the Western and Northern Cape.

It is a grass commonly eaten by grazing animals, which prefer tall grasses, such zebra and buffalo.

It grows to a height of 0,3 – 1,5 metres and it has very long flowering season, which always creates problems for allergy sufferers. The flowering season of rooigrass 9is from June to November.
