Callyn was diagnosed with a severe hearing loss at the age of 18 months. She was fitted with two Widex L 12 hearing aids by a Durban audiologist, for a period of 7 months before being refitting with two Widex C18 hearing aids, as her progress was so successful with her first hearing aids the audiologist felt she would do even better with the digital aids.

Little did we know that Callyn would excel even more than we expected with her new C18 hearing aids. We found that not only did Callyn progress with her language but we as parents found that the battery life lasted about a month at a time which was very convenient especially that Caltyn attended a aftercare in the afternoon and we would have to rely on her to advise the carer when her batteries went flat. All in all we have never experienced any problems with the Widex hearing aids that we have purchased. Because of Callyn's severe hearing loss our current audiologist felt that she would benefit even more by upgrading her this year to the Widex P38 aids as her current hearing aids could not be programmed further to assist her with her hearing. We at the same time purchased the MicroLink FM System which together with the P38's has given Callyn all that she needs to lead a normal life and attend a main stream school next year. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Widex for the technology you have provided us with to help our daughter.
