Let baby try different tastes
Created: Friday, September 03, 2010 PrintIt is from about 6 months that you may begin to give your baby solids and although it may seem to be a daunting thought, it is an exciting time and should be embraced.
When the time comes and you start to introduce solids to your baby, the first foods that you will give him should consist of single-grain cereals. These cereals, along with the breast milk or formula he or she is already drinking, provide your baby with the iron that he needs at this stage. When looking for what cereal to give your baby, try Purity’s First Foods Rice Cereal. To make it, you can mix the cereal with the amount of baby formula or breast milk indicated on pack.
In addition to the cereal, it is important to start giving your baby pureed fruits and vegetables. These can include carrots, pears, prunes, sweet potatoes, avocado, bananas, peaches, and much more. Purity has a range of seven First Food flavours to try.
As your baby gets a little older and you can start exploring more options, Purity has a range of Second and Third Foods cereals and jars that all contain no preservatives, colourants or artificial flavours and that baby will enjoy.
Recently, Purity introduced their Third Food Tastes of Africa range based on traditional South African meals, which cater for older babies from 8 months. This range follows on the successful launch of their Second Food Tastes of Africa range introduced some time back. You can now give your little one, who is now old enough to enjoy such tastes, a well-balanced, nutritious meal that has the flavour and goodness of traditional family recipes that will help maximise his or her potential.
It is important to expand your little one’s repertoire to include all types of tastes and textures that he can start to enjoy.
