Are you worried about your child's lack of concentration and energy? The answer could lie in her iron levels. Iron deficiency is one of the most common nutritional disorders of childhood and adolescence and it can have a serious impact on your child’s ability to learn.

Take action:
Make sure your child doesn't become iron deficient by including iron-rich foods, such as egg yolk, red meat, poultry, fish, dried fruit and iron-fortified cereals, in her diet. Also make sure that your child takes an iron supplement if your doctor prescribes it.
And try to eliminate possible causes of iron deficiency, such as worms, heavy menstruation or illness. Take your child for a checkup and treat her with the appropriate medication should this be the case.
