A bottled rejuvenation potion has led to ten of
South Africa's top celebrities becoming involved in
a new internet reality programme aimed at
capturing eternal youth and beauty.
For the new health challenge, former beauty
queen Wilma van der Bijl and models Tanya
Fourie, Josie Borain and Kerry McGregor are set to
down a daily small bottle of mineral water that is
said to slow down the ageing process.
Davin Phillips of Celebrity Services Africa said
blood was drawn from the competitors before the
challenge and sent to Sweden for analysis.
After the 10-week challenge new samples from
each competitor will be sent for DNA analysis, to
see if there are any changes.
Philips said the pure mineral water Aqua Bimini
was the latest breakthrough in the battle against ageing. It could apparently repair DNA and protect it
against cellular stress.
On-line subscribers will have open access to the sleeping habits, eating patterns and exercise
programmes of the celebrities, on the website www.health24.com
A dietician and fitness instructor, as well as a chef will work closely with them for the next 10 weeks
in the Forever Young health challenge.
Under public scrutiny
The experts took into account the personal needs of the glamour-group, who must all be impeccably
turned-out because they're constantly under public scrutiny, and together they devised targets for a
better lifestyle.
These targets must be achieved within 10 weeks.
Phillips says there's no prize at stake, just a healthier lifestyle.
"Most people want to be forever young. People always say they're striving for a better lifestyle. We've
challenged them and said 'Show us you can stick to your guns!' "
The Van der Westhuizen couple, Joost and Amor, have just entered for the unique challenge.
The celebrities are joined by Kerry McGregor's sister Kim and their mom Tracy, the designer Malcolm
Kluk and top chef Reuben Riffel, who have all volunteered for the challenge.
