SOS Children’s Villages:
SOS Children’s Villages South Africa is a private, independent organisation that provides orphaned and helpless children with a safe family to live and grow in. Eight to ten children are put in family-type homes called SOS families. The children are raised like brothers and sisters. The head of the family is known as the SOS Mother and cares for the children the same way a biological mother would. More than 900 children are currently living in the SOS Children’s Villages in Pretoria, Johannesburg, Pietermaritzburg, Mthatha, Cape Town, Nelspruit, Port Elizabeth and Rustenburg.

SPCA:
Whether it’s a stray cat, an unwanted dog or weak wild animal, the SPCA has always been a safe haven for the vulnerable. This independent organisation is well known for fighting for the rights of animals in South Africa. This includes battling animal abuse and encouraging pet owners to take proper care of their pets. The organisation needs all the help they can get from the public to keep up the amazing work they are doing for all animals across the country.

The Cart Horse Protection Association (CHPA):
The Cart Horse Protection Association (CHPA) is an animal welfare organisation relying on donations from the public. Their main focus is protecting the working cart horse from mistreatment and cruelty, through supporting and educating cart horse owners. The Association also provides clinic services and education in disadvantaged communities on how to take proper care of a cart horse. A lot of these communities use cart horses to collect scrap metal and other materials as a way of generating an income. The Association looks forward to supporting, educating and uplifting the community in order to protect the working cart horse.
