The week started with a BANG!!!
I had a huge car accident – and am still amazed that I did not get hurt at all. One minute I was standing in my door bending to get my cell, and the next my door was gone! Thank goodness that was all and nobody got hurt. Ever seen a shocked woman driving without a door to her car? Well, that was me – all I could think of was to get home. LESSON: LIFE IS SHORT - BE CAREFUL!
On Tuesday morning, we arranged a tea for 300 women at Kelvin Grove in Newlands, with a motivational speaker. Incredible success, and the proceeds went to Chelsea Varga, a 14-year-old Durban girl with leukaemia who is currently in Groote Schuur hospital. The ladies were very generous, and the money will help Chelsea pay for her bone marrow transplant. Should anyone want to contribute, these are her bank details:
BANK: NEDBANK – BRANCH – 164826
ACCOUNT: 1648 162169
THE CHELSEA VARGA TRUST.
Thanks to Aqua Bimini for sponsoring the water on the tables.
Mothers’ Day was, as always, full of surprises from the kids. I think it is a hugely consumeristic hype – but, guess what, I LOVE BEING SPOILED AND READING THE CARDS! Happy Mothers’ Day to all you wonderful multi-tasking mothers out there!
