Last week I went to a game farm to shoot a fashion story for Oprah magazine and fully expected to be surrounded by dangerous wild animals!
We drove deep into the bush in an open Landrover to look for them. The enthusiastic photographer envisioned a couple of lions in the background and perhaps a great elephant chase too.
It has been a very long time since I have prayed so hard!
My prayers were heard since the wildest animal we saw all day was a baby tortoise that unfortunately disappeared under the Rover’s front wheel.
The lodge that hosted us, Didimala, means silence in Tswana.
I’ve caught Tom the trainer’s enthusiasm and my back yard, bordering a green belt in our security complex, has become his boot camp.
This is where he pushes me in his gentle way to compete against myself. Since meeting Tom, I have learnt a whole new vocabulary and the one that cracks me up is “burpies”.
You can only imagine my expression when he told me the first time that we were going to do “burpies” – the last time I used that word was when I winded a baby.
The bottle of Aqua Bimini is now a permanent fixture in my handbag and I absolutely love it! Many of my clients, having taken an interest, have started drinking it too and my friends are following suit.
