Hello there! What a trip to Hamburg I had!
Travelling is like survival of the fittest! Your hand luggage must almost be able to fit into your pocket lately, and then the queues forming from the moment the aircraft doors open till the next terminal and flight, are nightmarish. Heathrow has become a gamblers’ high! Will you make your connection or will you not?
Well I made it, with seconds to spare, and had to run with eyes closed past all the wonderful duty-free shops!
I did a campaign for a German clothing company called Lucia. We worked 15 hours a day, since we only had two days to shoot all the clothes. I stayed in a fantastic hotel in the middle of the city, and went walking around the lake at night. It is a beautiful city and I know it well. I enjoyed the company of my team at an Italian restaurant each night, which helped to ease the day’s pressure.
Luckily, on my return I had a moment to pick out some gifts for my family.
We celebrated my fathers 60th at the Durbanville golf club on Saturday. The whole Fourie clan turned up and I was blinded by the Fourie “paparazzi”. Ha!
It humbles all else in life when you have your parents and family around you. I am happy and I feel like the luckiest person in the universe to have a close family. Never take anything for granted even for a moment – life really is just too short!
I have so much more to tell but my message to myself right now is hold on to what you’ve got, and take the time out to enjoy it.
Bacio
