But it's something we all have to go through. If you're really nervous, get a friend to go with you and sit in the waiting room. It really does make a difference knowing that moral support is right there if you need it.

Visits to the gynae are not painful, but the fact that you have to get out of all your clothes isn't very appealing. But, regular visits can detect any abnormalities or cancerous conditions early enough that something can be done about them.

Choose someone you can trust – go to a woman gynae if the thought of a male gynae doesn't appeal to you. And it'll all be over in minutes. Remember, a gynae will see anything up to 60 people a week or more with their clothes off – he/she is not going to remember what you looked like. Seriously.
