Should I wear a MedicAlert bracelet?

All diabetics should wear a MedicAlert bracelet. This bracelet will alert medical staff to your condition if you're in an accident or go into a diabetic coma.

In an emergency situation, a fast, accurate diagnosis is critical to the right medical treatment. You may be unconscious, injured or so confused that you're unable to give accurate personal or medical information.

MedicAlert operates 24 hours a day and can be contacted by medical personnel treating you. They'll be given your medical history and the details of people who need to be contacted.

Visit www.medicalert.org.au to join the organisation and to get your MedicAlert bracelet, chain, bangle, necklet or sportsband.
