Skip the grapefruit juice

accreditation

If you're on medication for high blood pressure, you need to choose your juice at the breakfast table wisely, or else your health may be at risk.

Take action:
Avoid grapefruit juice when using medication for high blood pressure (e.g. Adalat) or statin drugs (e.g. Simvastatin). The juice makes the enzymes that are responsible for breaking down the medicines less effective. As a result, you may have higher levels of the drug(s) in your blood.
