Cape Town Pride is a Section 21 Non-Profit Organisation that is committed towards being inclusive and encompassing.

The annual Cape Town Pride Festival is a celebration of our diversity, and also creates awareness around issues impacting the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex communities locally and throughout Africa.

Cape Town's Pride was started in 2001.The weeklong festival has been taking place every year from the end of February to the beginning of March.

The festival features an assortment of events such as exhibitions, fashion shows, parade, seminars, book fairs, balls, parties, and the main attraction: the Pride Parade, which draws thousands of people every year. (Zaakirah Rossier, Health24, March 2011)
