Why the female condom?

The female condom has been become more popular but is sadly still not readily available to all. Here are some of the reasons why you should consider this as a means of protecting yourself against unwanted pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections (STIs).

• The female condom can be inserted up to eight hours prior to intercourse.
• It is made of polyurethane and not latex which means that it is safe to use oil-based lubes with it. Not that you necessarily need it because it is very well lubricated.
• It is a female-controlled method.
