- Wear sensible, low heeled shoes
- Maintain good posture
- Avoid standing for long periods of time
- Spend more time in the bath or pool. Your muscles relax in water
- Sleep on a firm mattress
- Do exercises to strengthen the back. Aqua-aerobics is an excellent, safe choice
- Ask your doctor whether it is safe for you to use heat pads
