My year of blogging

A little over a year ago I didn’t even know what a blog was and now I’ve been a Sprogblogger for a year. It is quite ironic that the traditional gift for a first anniversary is paper since the first anniversary of Sprogblogs marks a whole year of paperless communication for me.

I chose Luddite Lass as my blog name because I felt that technology (including blogs) was a bit beyond me. The original Luddites were a group of British textile artisans who protested against the changes and mechanisation introduced by the Industrial Revolution. A year ago I was much happier with writing by hand with pen and paper and the end of my first post declared: ‘one small step into the blogosphere is one giant leap for this luddite’ because I felt I was stepping into an unknown space.
