The journal Developmental Psychobiology has this suggestion for getting your child to accept solid food.
While you're nursing, drink carrot juice. The flavour of the juice goes into your milk. Then if you feed your infant cereal flavoured with carrots, the infant accepts it more easily because it has a familiar taste.
But don't breast feed her and then offer her cereal right immediately. When the researchers tried that, the infants barely touched the flavoured cereal. It seems they were just tired of the taste of carrots.
