How can we reduce our intake and decrease our risk of hypertension?
- Choose snacks that are unsalted or lower in salt
- Read labels and nutritional tables to learn about the levels of salt in different foods
- Limit the use of salt in cooking, and rather use natural flavourings such as fresh herbs, garlic, ginger, lemon juice, curry powder & chillies
- Make it a habit to taste your food before adding salt, you may not need it!
