Choose your portion with caution

Do you tend to overeat? It's National Nutrition Week from 9 to 15 October and the theme this year is "Eat less - choose your portion with caution".

Take note of the following guidelines:

  • Choose a variety of foods from different food groups, and eat recommended amounts.
  • Make portion control a daily way of life.
  • Be aware that your body may only experience feeling "full" sometime after eating your meal. Eat slowly, and pay attention to your body’s internal cues to avoid overeating.
  • Stick to regular meal and snack times.
  • Use salt and foods high in salt sparingly.
