Never lose your roar

We've had some really cold weather in the Cape over the last few weeks. So much so that even Table Mountain was covered with a beautiful snow blanket.

Unfortunately the freezing temperatures, rain and snow resulted in new bouts of colds and flu and our staff being a bit thin on the ground. Yes, even people at Health24 get sick at times.

There could be nothing worse, though, than to lose your roar!

We had a great chuckle in the office last week when our Product Manager Candice Krieger shared with us the little story of how her 3-year-old son, Ethan, became absolutely distraught when he had "lost his roar". His throat was so sore and his voice almost gone...

Let me explain: little Ethan is a great fan of the kids' TV programme Henry Hugglemonster and had been perfecting his roar over months. We marvelled in the office how wonderful it was that this little boy's greatest problem had been that he couldn't roar at his friends and family. If only adult life were as simple as this.

It did make me think, though. We are all faced with many different challenges in our daily lives, and sometimes these challenges feel so overwhelming that we fear we may have lost our roar altogether.

The truth, however, is that no-one can ever take that roar away from you. Your roar is something unique and deeply powerful inside you. Your roar is what gives you the strength to go on and make the world a better place.

So, stand up, be proud and let your inner voice be heard: ROAR!
