Lifting objects places strain on your pelvic floor muscles, so avoid lifting especially heavy objects if you have incontinence.

It’s advisable when lifting e.g. kids or shopping bags to tighten your pelvic floor muscles before and during the lift.

Visit our Incontinence Centre for more on managing this condition.
