Background noise is said to help drive out distractions in those with ADHD who struggle to focus on the task at hand.
Dr Stephanie Sarkis, who wrote 10 Simple Solutions to Adult ADD, says that, while studying or working, you should turn on the ceiling fan, a white noise machine or put the music on low volume and you’ll find you will be able to concentrate on a task for longer.
