This is the worst reason to work through the holiday season. If you have a great manager, they will force you to take your entitled leave. If you have the boss from hell, then nothing you can do will be enough. In that case, even if you don't take time off, nothing you'll do will ever be recognised and you have to insist on the leave you're legally entitled to.
